Our Partners In The Community

Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Carolina Youth Development Center

Everyday Big Brothers Big Sisters of Carolina Youth Development Center works to bring the magic of positive adult role models into the lives of children. It is a proven program that has helped over 8,000 area children since it’s inception in 1979.

In our community-based program, Bigs and Littles plan community outings together based on mutual interests. They get together 3-4 times per month after work and school, on the weekends, at times that fit into everyone’s schedule!

Location: Mentoring takes place in the community, wherever is convenient for both the mentor and mentee

Commitment: minimum of one year of being matched with a child, meetings 3-4 times per month

Connections and You, Inc

Connections and You, Inc’s mentoring program is called The Distinguished Ladies and Gentlemen’s Club. Children involved in the program are ages 11 to 17. The boys and girls meet every other Saturday at their “Club House”, located in Hanahan, SC. They also provide an after school program two days a week, where the children receive tutoring, do homework, and study and/or get help with projects. Mentors are not required to attend these weekly meetings, but to contact their mentees weekly, to encourage, to motivate, and to provide guidance through this path called life. Mentors may also accompany mentees on monthly club outings.

Location: Mentoring takes place in the community, wherever is convenient for both the mentor and mentee, as well as at the Club House if preferred

Commitment: minimum of one year of being matched with a child, 4 times per month
